Russell Swann
Russell Swann (October 31, 1901 - 1980) was born William Russell Swann in Washington D. C., the first of 10 brothers.

Swann was a successfull comedy magician that performed in eveyr major nightclub in the United States during the 1930s and 1940s. Swann became the first magician to play the Waldorf Astoria in New York. He became one of the highest paid nightclub performers of his day. He gave a command performance at the White House for both President Roosevelt and Truman. One of Russell's most famous routines was the Head Chopper.
He also appeared on TV and film, including two appearances on the Jackie Gleason Show.
He received the Performing Fellowship from the Academy Of Magical Arts in 1979.
