Michael 'Majinga' Stroud (b.1967-d.2024) was an American Magician and author who specialized in theatrical stage magic, and most especially specialized in charming his audiences.

Biography

Michael Stroud, known previously as Magic Mike and later as Majinga the Magician. He was one of the busiest family entertainers in the San Fransisco area. [1] Michael's interest in magic began as a child of ten when two german magicians entertained him during a flight. By age 11 he had presented his first show. Later, magician Wayne Raeke from the Jokers Wild Magic Shop became his first Magic Mentor. Stroud is co-author of the best selling Klutz Book of Magic and the Rubber Chicken Book, also by Klutz. Michael is well known for his Bian Lian Mask Act. [2] In 2001, along with other American performers, Michael, who was now going by Majinga toured and performed in India.[3]

When Michael created the Majinga character, he along with his long time assistant Magic Genie and as many a dozen other artists, would have the longest running show of it's kind in the Bay area. The show was called Magique Bazaar.[4] They performed at the Gaslighter Theater in downtown Campbell California. Stage Magic, Illusions, Music, Dance and so much more in this exotic family friendly magic show.[5]

In 2024, Michael Stroud was preparing to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of his show Magique Bazaar, when his health suddenly began to decline. He passed away on March 5th, 2024.
