John G. MacKay was schools superintendent in Ubly, Michigan and an amateur magician specializing in comedy magic.

In the Linking Ring 1931, he had an advertisement for his "Knockout Cut-Restored Rope"

MacKay was a member of the I. B. M. ^[1]
