Slicer
Slicer (or "Janet Box") is a variation of the Sawing a woman in half stage illusion where a person steps into a vertical cabinet, after it is lowered into a horizontal position, a series of blades (nine sets; 18 blades) "slices" them. The sections are split apart while both hands and one foot are always in view of the audience and are moving. Other names for the illusion are the Caterpillar and Cutting in 9.
Franz Harary, in his commentary on his "Enigma Tech" DVD set, states it was named after a college mate Janet, not as some believe for a Janet Jackson tour.[1]
Built by David Mendoza, Harary has sold the rights to a number of other illusionists, including David Copperfield.[2]
