Norman C. Sehm held I.B.M. No. 2939 since 1929 and was a member of the Order of Merlin Excalibur and Ring 4.

His father, Edwin Sehm, worked in vaudeville theaters in the Rochester area. As a teenager, he met Harry Houdini and became interested in escapes. During the premier of the movie, "Houdini," Sehm was engaged to do escapes outside the theater.

During the 1920s and 1930s, he became friends with many greats in magic including Harry Blackstone Sr., Thurston, and Dunninger. They would often visit his home whenever they appeared in Rochester.

In his later years, he concentrated on of sleight of hand performances for clubs, schools, community groups, and private parties. He also operated a small magic business from his home, The Sehm Magic Studio.

He was also a member of the S.A.M. and was honored at two regional conventions for his dedication. [1] [2] [3]
