Jean Garance (1937-2010) was a Past President of the Geneva Magic Club and FISM.[1]
Biography
Garance discovered magic at the age of 10, became passionate with it, that he chose to become a professional magician. He was joined by his partner, Line, who became his wife.
In 1967, he took over the Academie Suisse de Magie du Professeur Rex, founded in 1929, followed by the opening of a magic accessories shop which he called “Le Truc Store”.
In 1961, he became President of the Geneva Magic Club, he also presided FISM during the World Convention held in Lausanne in 1991. He was also President of the Romandie section of IBM for several years and was also one of the founders of the international prix de l’illusion The Magic Rings which is held every 2 years in Morges, Switzerland.
