Chevalier Agoston (November 5?, 1821 - 1876) was born Carl August Bohm in Germany.

He was a performer who specialized in doing ghost shows.

In the 1860's, he had a ship turned into a magic drawing room which traveled up and down the Rhine river, giving performances, but it was not very successful.

He later performed in Switzerland then returned to Berlin where, it is told, he died of starvation.

Apparently after his death, Mrs. Agoston appeared as a magician in Oriental costume with surprising success.
