Tyler Wilson is a professional close-up magician and author from Alberta, Canada. He is also the owner of Cherry Villain, a boutique magic publishing company. Tyler is known for his inventive creativity, both on the stage and on the page. His methods and style of presenting are widely recognized for their innovation. When he first arrived on the scene, magicians compared Tyler to the likes of Paul Harris and David Williamson, but he has since forged a path of his own incomparable style.

Biography

Little seems to be known about Tyler's personal life, and he doesn't have much of an online presence, rarely posting on forums, and only one Youtube video to his name. This lack of online activity is balanced by his copious in-person appearances, lecturing extensively across Canada, the United States, and Europe on various tours and convention appearances.

Tyler began his proto-professional career at the age of eighteen, performing magic as a bartender. This led to him becoming a full-fledged professional, working restaurants, private parties, and corporate events. Tyler became the resident magician at the world-class ski resort, Lake Louise for several years. In 2007, he performed a week-long engagement in the close-up room of The Magic Castle. Some of Tyler's notable performances include his Canadian TV appearances, a private event for the Prince of the United Arab Emirates, and at a television taping with Hollywood celebrity, Neil Patrick Harris in Las Vegas. Primarily a close-up performer, Tyler's limited stage appearances include a three-man show he developed with fellow Canadian magicians, Donovan Deschner and Ryan Pilling, called Magically Delicious. Due to the conflicting schedules of all three performers, the show only played on two occasions. On the other side of the Atlantic, Tyler also performed in a three-night limited run stage show in Cheltenham, England called An Evening of Deception with British magicians, Rob James, Steve Knibbs, Andi Gladwin, and Steve Falkner. Throughout the 2011 season, Tyler was a resident magician at The House of Illusion in Costa Daurada, Spain.
