Stevens Magic Emporium (SME) is a brick and mortar, full-service mail order magic company started by Martha and Joe Stevens over 40 years ago.

Initially selling collectable magic in the 1960’s, he turned it into a larger and full-time operation in 1973.

SME published a cross between a magazine and catalog (mag-a-logs), printed on heavy stock and glossy front paper, consisting of items for sale along with featured stories and celebrity profiles.

Another venture was the The Greater Magic Video Library, done in an ABC Network/Affiliated studios and shot with two professional cameras. It now contains over 55 volumes.

In 1975, Stevens formed the The Wichita Conclave. Over the years, it grew too large for the town of Wichita, and with the advice of Jay Marshall, the convention was moved to Las Vegas and became the Desert Magic Seminar .

Another of their creations, introduced at the 1995 Desert Magic Seminar, was one of the first electronic magic forums, GeMiNi - The Greater Magic Network. Members, who paid $20 a year, were able to exchange information on various topics and read weekly columns. It ran for over five year.
