Arthur Pope (1882-1974) was "Dean" of the Chicago local SAM Assembly.[1]

Biography

Pope began performing when he was 15 and kept at it until about a year before his death at the age of 92.[2]

In 1959 Pope captured the S.A.M. Trophy and also won nine Certificates Of Merit for outstanding acts, and five times was the winner of first prize on Originality Nights.[3]

His original poem "My Magic Wand and I" was published in the Genii Magazine in their Christmas edition of 1939.
