Ben "Benny" Chavez was a professional magician and owner of the Chavez Studio of Magic.[1]

Chavez moved to the United States in 1920 and was performing magic professional by 1922.[2]

He played the vaudeville circuit in the 1930s with his wife Marian, who took the stagename Delorys‎. The act of "Benny Chavez and Delorys" also toured Canada and Australia.

In 1938 their five year old daughter Ruth, died as a result of burns suffered in a burning house-trailer. The grieving couple ceased to travel and three years later decided to open a school for magicians called the Chavez Studio of Magic.[3]

In 1951 they moved the studio to Hollywood, California. After his death, Marian continued teaching.[4]
