Bobby Baxter (1920 - 2009) was a comedy magician known as "Professor Baxter" who began performing professionally in the 1940s.

One of the first mentions of Baxter in Genii was the in Harold Sterling's Detroit News column of the September 1941 issue stating that he was playing clubs in Detroit doing some beautiful linking ring routines.

Baxter performed at the Festival of Magic and Occult in Madison Square Garden in 1972 and became a legend in the New York magic scene. He was a regular M.C. for magic shows and performed at the Magic Towne House and Monday Night Magic.

He was also known his work with thimbles, the Egg Bag, and his invention of the Cane in Newspaper.

Baxter was honored with a Performing Fellowship from the Academy of Magical Arts in 2006.
