Conventions are meetings of magicians with a scheduled series of lectures and related events centered on magic, usually taking place over a period of one to three days.

The Magischer Zirkel (Magic Circle) of Germany had its first annual meeting in 1925, making it one of the first conventions of magicians. The International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM) convened their convention in the United states the following year (1926) and the British Ring held theirs in 1931.
