Chanchal Lahiri (1978-2019) was an Indian magician, escape artist and stunt man. He was from India. Lahiri went by the stage name of Jadugar Mandrake. Lahiri drowned attempting a "Houdini style" escape in June of 2019. He was lowered from a bridge into the Hooghly River. His body was found about half a mile (1 km) from where he was lowered into the river.[1] [2]
