Charles "Chic" Schoke (about 1897-1976), an insurance agent by profession, was well known to magicians in Chicago and served as President of the Society of American Magicians (1956-57).[1]
Biography
Schoke would host and be a guide to many magicians visiting the city of Chicago. His trick, the Hippity Hop Aces, appeared in Volume 5 of the Tarbell Course in Magic and was a favorite of Dai Vernon.
He carried I.B.M.] No. 8600 and was a member of the Order of Merlin. He was a member of The Harlan Tarbell Ring 43 the SAM Assembly 3.[2]
