De Roze from Switzerland presented an act titled "The Wonder Barman" as early as 1936 in Europe and America. His performance included Any Drink Called For by the audience, producing a pitcher of punch and changing it to fire and his version of the ink and water transposition.

The November 1934 issue of the Linking Ring reported a description of his "Wonderful Barman" act being done in New York as part of the musical comedy "The Great Waltz". De Roze was described as heavy-set with a pleasant personality.

His 1935 act was also described in Holdens' Programmes of Famous Magicians.

The Linking Ring, June 1945 reported De Roze doing magic for GI's in Germany.
