E. Brian MacCarthy (1910-1968), an English amateur magician and member of the Magic Circle, specialized in billiard balls and Cup and Balls. He wrote several manuals detailing his various routines and methods.

MacCarthy's first public performance was at eleven years of age and he appeared at the Fortune Theatre, London. He was also a member of the Magicians' Club and the Pentacle Club, Cambridge.

He retired from the Army as a Lt.-Colonel.
