Ed Dart

Edward W. Dart (1883-1974) was a long time member in the magic community, helping form magic organizations and publishing magazines.

Dart, in the insurance field by trade, and one of the founders of the Magician's Guild of America in New York. He was one of the founders and eventually the publisher of the Conjurors' Magazine.

From December, 1949 until May, 1952, Ed wrote for Genii a monthly news summary covering the New York area.

A lifelong member in the magic community he was:

  • General Chairman in 1939 of the S.A.M. National Conference in New York City
  • Honorary member of Knights of Magic in New York
  • Member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians
  • Member of the Order of Merlin
  • Founder and Honorary member of I.B.M. Garden State Ring #106, Newark, New Jersey
  • Organizer and Life member of S.A.M. Carl Rosini #82 of Clearwater Florida.
  • Honorary member of the I.B.M. Harry Roz-On Ring #26, New York
  • Life member of the Magic Dealers Association
  • Life member of the Magician's Alliance of Eastern States
  • Life member of SAM Parent Assembly #1
  • Honorary member of the Society of Indian Magicians, Calcutta, India
