Edward Lee Rock (1916-1997) was a writer/photographer for the S.A.M. magazine, MUM.

Biography

Rock, after high school, teamed up with Arthur Herman Goadto produce a Spook Show entitled, "Ghostilla", which played a number of small towns in Virginia and West Virginia.[3]

He was president of S.A.M. Assembly No. 22 for two years, a member of The Magic Circle and held I.B.M. number 25321 (member of the Order of Merlin and the Fort Lauderdale Ring 49.)

He began his magic career at the age of twelve and starred in magic shows in local theaters in West Virginia.

Rock served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II as a photography instructor and was an aerial combat photographer in the 20th Airborne on B239s and "captured" the bombing of Hiroshima, Japan.

He was a popular radio broadcaster in Wyoming, a television anchor in Hollywood, California and worked on "Truth or Consequences," "Queen for a Day," and various television commercials. He moved to Miami in 1969 and was a cabinet maker with the Bertram Yacht Company for 15 years.

Rock was inducted into the S.A.M. Hall of Fame in 1995. [4]
