Eliaser Bamberg (1760 - 1833), born in Leyden, Holland, was one of the greatest magicians of the period and the start of the Bamberg dynasty of magicians.

He was severely wounded by the explosion of a powder magazine on board a man-of-war ship, which required his leg to be amputated.

Eliaser's son, David Leendert Bamberg, succeeded him as another successful magician. [1]
