The Ellis Ring was a gimmicked ring developed by Jardine Ellis to perform the Ring on Wand effect. Presented for the first time at Magic Circle Grand Séance of 1921. (See The Magic Wand, Vol. 13, no. 123, november 1924, page 155.)

It is usually a brass ring and can be used to:

  • penetrate onto a borrowed handkerchief -- while the ends are being held
  • pass through ropes
  • penetrate a spectator's thumb
