Floyd E. Brown (1902-1981), also known as Brownie, was the first Secretary of the Omaha Magical Society and performed under the stage name of "Mirza, the Modern Mystic".[1]

The magic bug bit him when he was 16 years old and Howard Thurston pulled cards from his mouth on the Boyd Theatre stage in Omaha.

He was an early member of the I.B.M. holding No. 234 and his [[S.A.M.] number was 846.

Brown performed magic from the age of 16 and worked under the stage name of Mirza, the Modern Mystic. He was a confidant of Harry Blackstone, Sr. and had spent time with such greats as David Abbott, Houdini, Dr. A. M. Wilson, T. Nelson Downs, and Paul Fox.

Brown obtained his BS Engineering degree from Armour Tech in Chicago and performed his magic show for paid dates wherever he could while going to college.

He went to Denver in 1926, for the Mountain States Inspection Bureau. Once there he also signed with Eurton-Mann Booking agency, getting shows when time permitted.[2] [3]
