"Colonel" Frank Seymour (1911-2002) was a commercial artist and magician.

Biography

He billed himself as the "Southern Colonel of Magic," a title bestowed on him in 1958 by the Governor of Arkansas.

Seymour started as a magician playing around his home town for with his daughter Medrith assisted him in school assembly shows.[1]

Later added the title "S.C.C.", which was short for "Southern Colonel of Corn", which he used in his days as a stage magician.

In the late 1950s, he was forced to retire due to illness in the family and bought the house next to his and to turn it into a clubhouse for magicians where he conducted magic lessons as the Seymour School of Magic. He served as president of Little Rock Magic Club during this time.

He also created the "Free Museum of Magic" in Little Rock, which boasted "6,000 tricks on display." The museum also hosted the "Little Rock Magic Circle."[2]

Seymour was a life member of both the SAM and IBM.[3]

SAM Assembly No. 180, in Little Rock, Arkansas, was named in his honor.
