George Carolly, Continental Conjuror, was known for his version of the bill in cigarette routine and working on cruise ships for many years. [1]
Carolly started out in the theater as an actor and one time had a part as a magician. After a year in the Hungarian Army, he was transferred to the entertainment group where he learned some magic. After the war, he stayed in occupied Germany where he entertained American Forces with a Chinese magic act from 1945 to 1951.
Carolly moved to the United States in 1951, eventually ended up in Miami Beach Florida where he was a hit. He played in most hotel in the area as well as private parties, children shows, conventions and hospitals.
In 1962, he toured with the USO in the Far East and then in 1964 started working on a cruise ship which he did steadily until 1980. [2]
