Georgiana Eagle (1835-1911) was taught by her father, a professional magician, Barnardo Eagle known as "The Wizard of the South". She married a man named Charles Card (1837–1867) on the 25th August 1868 at the Parish Church, St Marylebone, Middlesex, England,(who she was legally promised by Allegation on 24 Jul 1858). She married on the 25th of August 1868 at St Stephen's Church, Coleman Street, London, England, UK with Alfred George Joseph Aloysius Gilliland (1844–1882) She married on the 30th of may 1888 at Parish Church, Kentish Town, London, England with Harry Pashley (1858–)
Georgiana learned the art of magic from her father, but added the hypnotism and psychic aspect herself.
Georgiana presented mindreading tricks as if they were real. She promoted herself as a clairvoyant medium even before the Spiritualism movement began. Her second sight act was advertised as early as 1841 as "The Mysterious Lady". "the Fox Sisters" spirit rapping did not start until 1848.
she traveled for years as Gilliland Card and Madame Card, Magician and Hypnotist.
Georgiana Eagle styled herself as the celebrated enchantress, and advertised her "wonderful, amusing and scientific ENTERTAINMENT in MAGIC" in London.
One of her tricks was to tell the time on a watch held by a member of the audience while she remained blindfolded onstage
It's rumored Georgina performed a séance for Queen Victoria, and later acted as a medium for her dead husband Prince Albert. Rumor has Georgina becoming a sort of Court Magician to Queen Victoria.
