Golden Gate Magic Co. was a mail order company and magic shop on Market Street in San Francisco, California, opened in the 1940s by Tom Dethlefsen (1892-1965).

Originally at 583 Market Street, it moved to 617 Market Street in early 1950s.[1]

Dethlefsen put the shop up for sale in 1960 on advise of his doctors due to a heart condition.[2]

It was sold by the end of the year to Lou Rossi and Leslie Mutchler. They eventually closed around 1966.

Bill Whittington reopened "Golden Gate Magic" in 1985 as a mail order company, first with Bob Koch from Chicago (until 1988) and then with Paul Chosse.[3]

The shop also published the Golden Gate Gazette in 1986 (for 2 issues).
