Harry A. Tunks (1899-1975) was a semi-professional magician, ventriloquist and a colonel in the United States Air Force .
Biography
He ran away from home to join a medicine show when a kid, and later on joined the Army.
Tunks was well known in magic circles in the southwest and in Hawaii where he was stationed for a number of years. He carried I.B.M. No. 6973 starting in 1965. He received the French Croix de Guerre for his service in World War I and was also a veteran of World War II. While in the Service he did many shows of magic in Hawaii and the Philippines.[1]
He was a friend of McDonald Birch and held a lifelong interest in magic.[2]
It was reported in the Linking Ring that Tunks was on an early TV program in San Antonio, Texas, in which he presented magic in 1952.[3]
