Howard Thurston's Card Tricks was mostly likely ghost written by William Hilliar (who had written a similar book on coin tricks for T. Nelson Downs) was published in London to capitalize on his recent sucess.[1]

The book was illustrated by the brother of P. T. Selbit, Sidney Tibbles.

Thurston explains such sleights as the Pass, Palm, Force, Change and Back-Palm. He also includes his card stack and Rising Card routine.[2]

The explanation of the rising card was not the version the Thurston actually used, but one invented by Hilliar.
