J. A. J. Palmer (?-1951), known as Jappe, was a past president of the Society of Irish Magicians (1942 – 1943).
Palmer had been an athlete, climber, fisherman, craftsman and civil servant. He helped to establish magic as an art.
He was one of Dublin's most popular ever children's entertainer.
His lectures usually including a display of paraphernalia made by himself.
