Jack Avis (July 27, 1921 - January 8, 2004) a British close-up magician and inventor. A printer by profession, he served in the British army over in Africa and Italy.
At one time he performed under the stage name Siva, which is Avis spelled backwards.
Author of over four hundred items in magazines and books. Contributed to Pallbearer's Review, Epilogue, Pentagram and many other magic periodicals.
He created the Siva count card sleight.
