Jack Burch (fl. 1883-1907) was a prominent magician of the mid-west, Chicago area.

Biography

As an amateur he was giving performances by 1883 and then made his professional debut at the Leland Opera House in Albany on May 16, 1888.

Burch moved west in 1890 and has made Chicago his home. Assisted by his wife, he was one of the most popular club and society entertainers.

The Sphinx for June 1904 re-printed a notice of Jack Burch declaring bankruptcy. He still continued to perform at least through 1907 as the Conjurer's Monthly Magazine (December 1907) reported that "Mr. and Mrs. Jack Burch won considerable favor at the Majestic Theatre."
