Jack Pyle (1909-1987) was a memory and card expert in Chicago.

Biography

Earliest reports of his performing "card tricks" were at a Kiwanis club in Rockport, Indiana, at the Navy's 52nd Defense Battalion in the Marshall Islands in 1940.

Pyle traveled all over the world on USO tours and was the MC at fairs and arena shows. He worked at hundreds of night clubs all over the United States, including the Copa Cabana, The Waldorf Astoria, and the Playboy Clubs.

In the early 1950's he did a series of shows in Kansas City with Blackstone.

In the 1960's he began to work in the new market of "trade shows" and was one of the regulars at Ed Marlo's "Knights of Sleights" Roundtable in Chicago.

In spite of deteriorating health, he continued performing up until a few weeks before his death.

His son John-Ivan Pyle is a stage hypnotist and author.
