John P. Weiss (fl. 1940s-1950s), a New York City patrolman, founded Magicops, an organization for law enforcement officers who were also amateur magicians in 1947.[1]
Biography
Weiss became interested in magic after watching a Thurston show in 1919.
On his retirement around 1956 from the force in 1956, he turned to court reporting.[2]
