K. LAL was an Indian magician who performed for audience across the world for nearly 61 years.[1]

He became inspired to become a magician after seeing a performance by the Chang who visited India in 1939. His show in the 1960s was described in Genii 1966 March which stated his programme consists of 38 acts including an overture by his own orchestra. [2]

By the age of 16, K. LAL was performing a full 1 1/2-hour illusion show to strong reviews. By the end of 1996, he had performed 16,267 shows all over the world, including tours of Japan and Korea.

He received was a special award in 1968 from his peers, at the International Brotherhood of Magicians' Convention in the United States.

The family tradition is being carried on his son, K. LAL (Jr.).[3]
