Kirk Stiles (1912-1980) was a artist, cartoonist and semi-professional magician.[1]

Biography

He edited the short lived close-up Magic and Spells Quarterly in the early 1970s. [2]

A veteran of WWII, his cartoons were featured in the Saturday Evening Post,Look, Time, the New York Herald, and Collier's. An avid chess buff, Kirk was also a frequent contributor to Chess Review.

He later moved from New York to Florida in 1964 and became a faculty member of the of the Hollywood Art School.

He served as President of SAM Assembly 49 in Fort Lauderdale,

Produced a record album (33 1/3) with Duke Stern called Abracadabra Is My Game. It contained a collection of tricks intended for beginners.

Some of his effects, can also be found in Phoenix, Abracadabra, and Pallbearer's Review.[3][4]
