Leonardi (1884-1969), aka Leonard Bellachini, was a professional magician in Europe.
Biography
He began his artistic career in 1902 as an actor, but changes to a full time magician in 1908, performing a drawing room act including hand shadows.
After learning his first tricks from Otto Hausler, the owner of a show booth, he becomes acquainted with Hugo Ganske around 1910, whose 'telepathic' act he eventually takes over.
He served in the First World War and afterward bought some of the large apparatus of Bruno Schenk, the Director of a magic theater.
In 1936 he emigrates to Estonia and Latvia and then onto Finland. After 1945 he adopts the name Leonardi and by 1963, he was returned to Berlin.[1]
One of his posters can be seen at the Conjuring Arts online exhibit, "The Many Faces of Magic."[2]
