Lionel M. Homburger, a doctor of dentistry, served as president of the Society of American Magicians in 1914.

In September, 1918 issue of MUM he informed everyone that he legally changed his name to Dr. Lionel Hartley.

Homburger became the third editor for MUM and continued until the end the original format (July, 1927) when it became a section of The Sphinx.


He was still serving at Treasurer of the SAM at least until 1937.
