Lyle A. Elliott (c.1927-1980), known professionally as "The Fabulous Mr. Lyle," in nightclubs in Canada and the United States in the late 1940s and 50s.

Biography

He was raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and became interested in magic as a youth.

In his teen years he performed at Canadian Army camps during World War II.

Following the war, he became a professional magician and toured the United States and Canada with a nightclub act featuring silk productions, flowers, the vanishing radio, and productions of lit cigarettes.

In 1954, he returned to Hamilton to assist in his father's construction firm and later founded his own real estate company. He continued to perform on a semi-professional basis He joined the I.B.M. in 1955 (No. 8799) and was a member of Ring 49 in Hamilton which he served as president.

In the mid-sixties, Lyle moved to Florida to manage a family business, "Lyle and Company" and continued to perform on a semi-professional basis.[1]

His publicity photo can be seen on the Conjuring Arts' online exhibit, "The Many Faces of Magic."[2]
