Magic Academy of Sweden, a Magic Organization that was started by Dr. Nils Simonson in Stockholm, December 8 1962, and consisted of eighteen Swedish Magicians.[1]

The stated goal and purpose for the Academy is to advance the Swedish art of magic, through lectures, discussions and intellectual exchange between the members. To further the artistic level of Swedish magic by being role models, and to raise the public appreciation for magic.

At a meeting of the Academy at Hotel Reisen in Stockholm, February 6 1982 it was decided to make the Academy dormant for 5 years.

From 1996 and onwards, Bertil Fredström,the then permanent secretary of the Academy, attempted to bring the Academy to life again. In October 2014 he was finally successful and the Academy became active again. The current permanent secretary of the Academy is Per Eklund.
