Magic Manuscript Magazine was initially started by FMC Productions, Adam Fleischer in 1981. It was taken over in 1982 by Tannen's Ltd. Adam Fleischer stayed on as Editor-in-Chief, Art Director & Founding Publisher.

It started out it's first 2 volumes in as a smaller sized (non-glossy) format published by Frazee's Magic
