The Mental Photography Deck (or Nudist Deck) is a trick deck which allows you to freely fan the deck and show both sides completely blank. But when you cut the deck a card will appear. You can then riffle through the deck and show that all the cards are normally printed. You can then instantly turn all the cards back to blanks if you wish.

Referred to as a Nudist Deck, based on a popular presentation centering around a nudist colony.

It was popularized by Don Alan.

History

  • Edward Bagshawe's Optica Deck (1928) appears to be a forerunner of the Mental Photography Deck.
  • The Mental Photography Deck is credited to Ralph W. Hull.

Variations

  • Aldini's Nature Deck, an alternative to the Mental Photography Deck
  • Joe Berg's Blank Deck and Latest Blank Deck' creates the same effect with different principles and slight of hand.
