Protean Deck by Robert-Houdin in 1868 would transform itself to consist solely of one of three selected cards when that card is placed on the bottom of the deck.

It was described in Tricks with Cards by Professor Hoffmann (1889) and Greater Magic by John Northern Hilliard (1938).

It was marketed by Gary Plants in 200?.
