Reverend Dr. Roger Crosthwaite (b. 1938) was educated at Malvern College, Durham University and Cambridge. He was ordained in the Church of England in 1965. His interest in magic was aroused when Ray Griffiths performed at his birthday party. Roger Crosthwaite contributed many tricks to The Gen (1964-1965) and made a name for himself as a card technician.

He moved to the United States and returned to the UK in 1980. He produced, in the early 1980's, the Inner Sanctum (6 Volumes) video series with guests such as Michael Vincent and Roger Curzon. Since his move to Worthing (circa 1994), he has become friends with Paul Gordon (and took the ceremony at Paul's second marriage); and they often session. In 2007, Roger once again returned "to the cloth" and at present, magic is again on the back burner.
