Snag Werris (1910-1987) was an amateur magician and comedy writer for Ed Wynn, Jackie Gleason, Red Skelton, and the TV show "All In The Family."[1][2] Snag Werris legal name (in the US) was Samuel Edward Werris.

He began as a comedian in burlesque and later was a mentor to Milt Larsen as a comedy writer out of high school.[3] He served on the Magic Castle Board of Directors and was also a friend of Dai Vernon who called him 'Gans' (Snag backwards).[4]

Werris was the magic technical director of Jerry Lewis' show "Geisha Boy".[5][6]
