Stéphane Bourgoin is a Montreal-based magician and magic consultant who has designed illusions for a long list of theatrical clients, including Cirque du Soleil, the Montreal Metropolitan Orchestra, and Le Théâtre du Nouveau Monde. He also created an interactive exhibition on magic which ran at the Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Museum for more than two years and drew over 100 000 visitors. (this was the subject of an article by David Acer in the July, 2003 issue of Genii)
More recently, Bourgoin has begun to release material to the magic community at large, including the Tennis Chop Cup, the Pool Chop Cup, Mister Spork, The Comedy Helper, and Sharp-Ring (with Patrik Kuffs).

"French Canada offers about as unique an entertainment industry as you’re likely to encounter (think Cirque du Soleil). When Quebec comedian Sylvain Larocque performs in English, he always opens his set by saying, “I know what you’re thinking… ‘F***! He’s going to juggle!’ For some reason, however, while every pseudo art from stilt-walking to fire-breathing has somehow made the transition to mainstream entertainment here, magic has remained, if not a poor second cousin, certainly a craft associated more with children’s parties. Ironically, this is an image that magician Stéphane Bourgoin has been trying to combat all his professional life, so when he got a call from the Just for Laughs comedy museum to help design a magic exposition for kids, you can imagine his glee… Located in the heart of downtown Montreal, the Just For Laughs museum has presented a variety of exhibitions over the years, but none quite like this. Conceived and constructed to be educational, interactive and entertaining, this was one of their first endeavors specifically targeted to children. And yet, as is often the case with good children’s entertainment, it has also proven to be a huge hit with adults."
