Miser's Dream ideas that I use for my Gospel Magic programs: I absolutely love Chris Capehart's Miser's Dream DVD. Get it! See Al Flosso's version at www.youtube.com. (By the way, many great magicians are now on "youtube", search Neil Foster to see his classic Zombie, or type in Losander, or Kevin James, or many others). Chris' "buckets" now are available now as a "utensil holder" for $4.95 at some Wal-Mart's, or under $10 at Bed, Bath and Beyond for a heavier bucket. I picked up at Denny and Lee's a wonderful coin clip holder for the introduction of the first, second or even third palming coin to my hand. But I did not like having to keep the coins laying sidewise in the bucket in a fixed position prior to the effect being performed. Solution: go to Office Max, get two "suction cup clips" for less than $2.50! I placed one clip toward the bottom of the bucket, and it holds 9 palming coins. Then, with a second suction clip, I place a large jumbo coin. After showing my hands empty to begin the trick, I pick up the bucket upside down and freely whip it around so it is apparently empty (not showing the inside of course). When the volunteer is coming up to assist, I steal the coin(s) for my right hand from the clip (under my right jacket side pocket) for the initial several productions, and also reach in the bucket with my left hand and release the other 9 coins from the bulldog type clip directly into my left hand. This loads the coins into my hand, all without the price of a high priced "loading" bucket! I then pretty much follow Capehart's routine exactly. At the end of the routine, I place the last coin in the bucket, then immediately remove/palm the HUGE jumbo coin from it's clip also suction cupped to the inside of the bucket. It is then produced after I ask- would you like to see one more coin? At the end of the routine, I place the bucket in my table. When the program is over, I switch buckets to a identical bucket FILLED with my wonderful (and cheap) "give away" coins. All the kids reach in and take one or two as they leave. I use "The Ten Commandments" coins available from www.livingwaters.com, but any promotional coin would work also. Enjoy!
