Steve Beam (b. 1958) was the editor of The Trapdoor from 1983 to 1998 and the author of the Semi-Automatic Card Tricks series (10 volumes).
Biography
Beam became interested in magic by the age of eleven. Has worked as a Finance Director of the Raleigh Housing Authority in Raleigh, North Carolina. He served as the CEO from 1996 until his retirement in 2014.
Starting working as a part-time magician in 1977, specializing in close-up, card, comedy, and club magic.
Beam started his mail-order company "Trapdoor Productions" in Williston, South Carolina in 1978.[1]
