Surpriso Deck

There were two tricks sold under the name "Surpriso".

Loring Campbell

Surpriso Deck is a card trick sold with a Forcing Deck created by Loring Campbell and marketed by Sterling Magic Co.

Effect: the deck is shuffled and one is selected by the spectator. The magician puts the deck in his pocket after spectator shuffles the deck. The magician offers to make a bet that he can find the selected card, but wants five chances to find it. Five cards are taken out of the pocket and put face down on the table. Card by card the magician fails. The spectator reveals that his card was the Joker. SURPRISO, the five cards one at a time so they are face up and they are seen to spell out the word JOKER.

It was some time around 1944. It was later described how to make the deck in the September 1947 issue of the Linking Ring.

Evans Brown

A mechanical version of the Card Stabbing Trick, marketed by Evans Brown at the same times as Right About Face Deck.
