Tan Hock Chuan (1910-1991), known as "Bertie", was a prolific writer, performer and inventor from Singapore.
He gave first public performance at age of fifteen. Chuan originally qualified as a teacher of mathematics but magic was his passion. He was known for his performances in the big magic shows with specially painted scenery, dancing girls and a full orchestra.
