The New Book of Magic is the first of 10 magic books by Joseph Leeming. Using the pseudonym Professor Paradise, Leeming also includes his real name on the book's title page: "Assisted by Joseph Leeming."
An anonymous reviewer in Boys' Life, Nov. 1927, Vol. 17, No. 11, p. 65, had "seen no book of this type that is so clear and concise, so complete, and so careful in its instruction..." The book also was briefly reviewed in Everygirl's Magazine.
